Who Fits a Bruno Lift?
Bruno's stairlifts are sold only through factory-trained dealers, and those same dealers handle the installation. Here, a dealer is a local company that Bruno has trained and given approval to sell, fit and maintain its lifts. According to Bruno, local dealers deliver, install and support each new lift.
The company was founded in 1984 and remains veteran-founded and family-owned. Its stairlifts are made in the USA. You'll find the head office at 1780 Executive Dr, Oconomowoc, WI 53066, though a dealer close to your home always carries out the actual fitting.
We list 967 installers across 50 states, and 686 of them carry Bruno, with 169 of those also carrying Harmar. These listings are pulled from the public dealer locators run by Bruno and Harmar, and we update them four times a year.

Installing a Bruno Chair Lift on Straight or Curved Stairs
The simplest job is a straight staircase. Bruno puts the installation time for a straight lift at about 2 to 4 hours, and dealers often keep straight indoor lifts in stock, which means fitting can happen on short notice. From order to fitting, a straight lift usually takes 1 to 15 days.
Curved stairs call for a rail built to match that particular staircase. Bruno states that a curved Bruno lift may only be installed by authorized dealers, with fitting running about 4 to 8 hours. From order to fitting, expect roughly 3 to 5 weeks.
The rule is the same for outdoor Bruno lifts. Selling, installing and servicing them is reserved for factory-trained dealers.
The charger connects to a standard 110 V outlet, placed at either the top or bottom of the stairs. So most homes won't need any special wiring.
Bruno Price, and Installed Prices for Any Brand
These are Bruno's own starting prices for the lift, from its stairlift FAQ. The dealer sets the fitting charge and often includes it, so ask whether your quote does.
| Bruno starting price, lift | |
|---|---|
| Straight, base model | About $4,000 |
| Straight, premium model | About $6,000 |
| Curved, rail with a base bend | About $13,000 |
Bruno does not publish an outdoor price. For comparison, these are installed ranges for a new lift of any brand, outdoor included. Each comes from three or more separate price guides, manufacturers or sellers, so treat it as a guide rather than a quote.
| Staircase type | Any brand, new lift installed |
|---|---|
| Indoor, straight | $2,500 to $7,500 |
| Indoor, curved | $9,000 to $15,000 |
| Two straight flights with a landing | $9,000 to $15,000 |
| Outdoor, straight | $4,000 to $10,500 |
| Outdoor, curved | $10,000 to $20,500 |
A typical straight rail measures 15.5 ft. If your staircase is longer, the extra rail costs about $80 to $100 for each additional foot.
What the Bruno Warranty Covers
Bruno's indoor lifts come with a limited lifetime warranty, while outdoor lifts get a limited 5-year warranty. The cover is for the first buyer alone, and only when a Bruno dealer installed the lift.
For a straight indoor lift, lifetime cover extends to the motor, the gearbox and the rail. With the Elite curved indoor lift, the remaining parts carry 2 years of cover.
Already Own a Bruno?
Bought a Bruno second-hand, or moving house with one? Many Bruno dealers will fit a lift you already own.
- Fitting a straight lift you own usually costs $550 to $850.
- A straight rail can often be cut to fit new stairs. Because each curved rail is shaped to fit one single staircase, it seldom works on any other.
- Taking a lift out usually costs about $100 to $300.
- Bruno's warranty covers the first buyer only, so a used lift is not covered.

Repairing a Bruno Stairlift
Repairs and servicing go through a Bruno dealer, just like the fitting, and outdoor lifts may only be serviced by factory-trained dealers. Dealer work also keeps your warranty clear, because Bruno ties its cover to it.
Before you call, check three things:
- The chair is parked at its charging point, so the battery can charge.
- The outlet the charger plugs into is switched on.
- Nothing is on the rail or the stairs in the chair's path.
Bruno suggests a service once a year, and a yearly visit usually costs $100 to $300. Of the 686 Bruno dealers we list, 451 list repairs and servicing, and the stair lift repair page covers common faults.

Call (888) 314-9397Common Questions
Can I fit a Bruno stairlift on my own?
Bruno won't sell its lifts for DIY installation, and the warranty covers only lifts a Bruno dealer installed. If you've bought a used or online straight lift, an installer can be paid to put it in, which typically runs $550 to $850. A secondhand lift falls outside the warranty, since cover belongs to the first buyer alone.
Where do I get replacement parts for a Bruno stair lift?
The local dealer network supplies parts and support for Bruno lifts. Ask a dealer who carries Bruno, because that's the channel Bruno uses to support its lifts.
What is a Bruno Diamond Dealer?
Diamond Dealer is the title Bruno awards its top-selling dealers. Lifeway Mobility, which holds the title, says the honor goes to dealers ranked among the top 3 percent of Bruno dealer sales across North America. It began in 2016; before then, the leading dealers were known as Bruno preferred dealers.
Will this site fit or repair my lift?
No. This site doesn't sell, install or service lifts; installers can pay the site for customer introductions.
